Vygruppen (formerly Norwegian Railway Services, NSB), a passenger and freight transport operator in Norway, faced the challenge of modernizing its maintenance reporting. Their outdated, phone-based process for train conductors and drivers to report issues was time-consuming and inefficient, preventing teams from focusing on critical work as new competition entered the market. To address this, they partnered with vendor Neptune Software to develop a new mobile app strategy for streamlined communication with their SAP systems.
Neptune Software implemented a mobile and desktop application that integrated with Vygruppen's SAP HCM and MRO systems. The solution allowed personnel to report errors directly via app, which were then instantly documented and tracked. This resulted in 75% of errors being reported through the app and a 45% reduction in phone calls. The new workflow led to dramatically faster response times, with some issues being resolved within minutes, freeing teams to focus on more critical work and improving passenger experience.
