New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) mobilise their inventory process using Neptune Software

New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) needed a faster, more accurate way to manage highly manual inventory and armoury stocktakes across a diverse, operationally complex organisation. Working with Neptune Software and Soltius, NZDF looked to modernise its SAP-based processes while meeting requirements for offline mobile use, commercial hardware compatibility, and support for barcode and RFID standards.

Neptune Software’s SAP-certified UX Platform was implemented to mobilise inventory checks on approved mobile devices with barcode and RFID scanning, including offline capability for remote and field operations. The result was a dramatic efficiency gain: a stocktake of 1,000 units that previously took two people about half a day can now be completed in about 40 seconds, while also improving data accuracy, reducing paper and manual effort, and delivering a strong return on investment with minimal backend change.
