Open Grid Europe, one of Europe’s largest natural gas transmission system operators, wanted to replace an outdated and complex SAP user interface with a faster, more intuitive enterprise portal for employees. The company needed a modern UX that would simplify access to SAP systems such as ERP, materials management, and HR, while still being quick to design, build, manage, and run across mobile and desktop environments. Neptune Software helped support this goal with its SAP development platform.

Using Neptune Software and Neptune Launchpad, Open Grid Europe delivered a renewed portal with a unified, modern interface and built it on top of its existing SAP infrastructure without needing NetWeaver Gateway. The first deployment went live in less than five months and connected more than 200 SAP and non-SAP apps, with 1,650 users benefiting from easier-to-use applications and faster work. Neptune Software also enabled a path for additional apps and mobile expansion, while helping improve developer productivity and future readiness for SAP S/4HANA.
