A Neptune Software Case Study
The Norwegian Government Agency for Financial Management (DFØ) needed to improve the usability of its highly customized SAP HR self-service portal, which supported 80,000 users and had become difficult to use because of a poor interface, complex login, and confusing travel expense forms. Working with Neptune Software, DFØ set out to create a more user-friendly mobile and desktop experience without adding major cost or disrupting its existing SAP environment.
Using Neptune Software’s development platform, DFØ built and rolled out a new app that reused existing SAP roles and authorizations, required no extra hardware or middleware, and was shaped through user testing and UX best practices. The result was a system users described as quick, simple, and available, with reported time savings of 50–80% for time entry and an estimated one minute saved per employee translating to about 90 FTEs across 40,000 employees.
