A Neotys Case Study
Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU), France’s largest pari-mutuel betting operator, needed to reliably simulate the activity of its 16,000 retail terminals and remote channels to validate its betting application under realistic loads—about 2,000 betting transactions per second. Their prior mainframe-based simulator was hard to manage, didn’t reflect real usage patterns, and couldn’t reproduce transaction distributions or race‑time peaks accurately, prompting a search for a replacement.
PMU selected Neotys’ NeoLoad, which was adapted quickly to PMU’s proprietary terminal protocol and configured to run daily pre‑production scenarios (including peak loads before races). The solution delivered immediate cost savings by replacing the in‑house tool, improved test responsiveness and scalability, clearer reporting, and a large productivity boost—NeoLoad is now used for all new PMU projects.
