A Neo4j Case Study
Worldline, a leader in payments and transactional services, was facing the challenge of modernizing the UK rail ticketing ecosystem, where timetable, signaling, reservations, and ticketing data were siloed across legacy systems. The company needed a better way to manage complex journey planning, split-ticketing logic, and revenue allocation across train operating companies, and chose Neo4j Graph Data Platform and Neo4j AuraDB Enterprise to support the effort.
Using Neo4j, Worldline built a graph-based split ticketing service and unified disparate rail data into a single model for more advanced journey planning, routing, and ticketing analysis. Neo4j AuraDB Enterprise gave Worldline a fully managed cloud setup with easier deployment and less administrative overhead, helping accelerate innovation and improve visibility across routes; the initiative is expected to support demand-led timetabling and boost revenues, though exact economic impact has not yet been quantified.
