The World’s Airlines Rely on Graphs to Offer Better Ticket Prices and Travel Options for Customers

ATPCO, owned by the world’s major airlines, sits at the center of global flight shopping and provides pricing and retailing content for carriers, distribution systems and travel agencies. Its challenge was modeling and delivering value from enormous, highly interconnected pricing and route data — ATPCO customers estimate daily product permutations in the hundreds of billions — while breaking down siloed sources to produce accurate, market-ready fares and offers.

ATPCO adopted Neo4j to build a graph-powered pricing engine that represents airports, flights and ticketing variables as connected nodes and relationships, becoming the core of at least five data services (from fare management to tax calculation). The result is simpler, faster analysis that helps airlines deliver market-aligned pricing and bundled offers, and it has also exposed useful data to startups through ATPCO’s Bridge Labs incubator — delivering a scalable, performant foundation for new airline data products.
