Cisco Systems, a global IT leader, struggled with making its vast library of sales documents easy for employees to find. Salespeople could spend up to an hour a day searching for relevant content, and the company’s keyword-based search lacked the metadata needed to surface the right materials quickly. Cisco turned to Neo4j and its graph platform to improve document findability and support its sales team.
Neo4j helped Cisco build a metadata graph and ontology, tag historical documents, and add real-time tagging for new content. The result was a much smarter search experience across roughly 20 million documents, with search taking half the time and results becoming more accurate. Cisco says Neo4j’s solution saves the company over four million employee hours per year, giving sellers more time to engage prospects and close deals.
