A Neo4j Case Study
Orange, led by Senior IT Architect Nicolas Rouyer, turned to Neo4j to modernize IT supervision and get a holistic view of its network and servers. The challenge was to detect security issues and complex relationships that traditional tools missed, solve graph search problems like shortest path, and scale the approach into a public offering for Fortune 500 customers and other domains such as churn reduction and HR recommendations.
Orange implemented Neo4j, iteratively refined the data model, and integrated the graph platform with ETL and BI tools before moving to lightweight, dedicated interfaces using Spring Data and open-source frameworks. The result was clearer, previously hidden IT and security connections, improved supervision and analytics, new enterprise services, and a growing community that produces practical workshops and graph use cases.
