Schleich GmbH, a leading German toy manufacturer known for its lifelike figurines sold in over 50 countries, needed a more scalable, flexible product data management (PDM) system to handle heterogeneous master data across design, production and compliance. Its legacy PDM had become hard to administer and slow, making it difficult for staff to access cross‑company data from suppliers, tools, materials and country‑specific regulations.

Schleich replaced the old system with a Neo4j-based central database and Structr mini‑apps that provide tailored UIs and interfaces to other systems (including SAP). The migration was completed in six months; the new platform consolidated data, sped up development and multi‑user workflows, improved performance and traceability across the value chain, and created a central knowledge base that simplifies compliance checks and accelerates change requests.
