Case Study: Financial Times achieves 4x faster development and richer content recommendations with Neo4j

A Neo4j Case Study

Preview of the Financial Times Case Study

Financial Times - Customer Case Study

The Financial Times set out to better link its articles, topics and reader habits so it could deliver richer, real‑time content recommendations. Previously reliant on an RDF triple store and not leveraging inferencing, the semantic metadata team needed a faster, more practical approach to model and serve linked content.

By experimenting with Neo4j and Go (and newer Bolt drivers), the team rebuilt roughly 12 months of work in about three months, unlocking major productivity gains. The graph model made it easier for developers to collaborate, iterate on models without over‑optimizing upfront, and deliver faster, more scalable content‑recommendation capabilities with strong management support.
