Digitate’s Ignio platform delivers cognitive automation for IT operations, batch processing and SAP ERP, but it faces the inherent complexity of thousands of interconnected systems and business-contextual relationships. The team found relational and NoSQL approaches could not easily model, query or visualize the dependencies and context needed to automate and manage that infrastructure effectively.

To address this, Digitate chose Neo4j as the graph database for Ignio’s next release to represent relationships and context natively. Graph data has enabled clear visualization of dependencies, faster and more effective queries, and better support for cognitive automation and future AI capabilities — significantly reducing complexity and operational effort and prompting the team to conclude they should have adopted graphs sooner.
