Creating a Modern Solution to Finding What’s Lost with Neo4j

NotLost was created to solve the complex problem of lost property after a simple question about a jacket left in a London park. As the business grew, it needed a modern, flexible way to manage highly varied lost-and-found data, support global matching logic, and scale for enterprise customers like Transport for London. NotLost chose Neo4j, using its graph database and later Neo4j AuraDB on AWS to power the platform.

Neo4j helped NotLost build an AI- and NLP-driven, image-based application that tracks items, locations, dates, and other relationships in a highly configurable data model. The solution has scaled to more than 9 million nodes and nearly 19 million relationships, helping NotLost find over 500,000 lost items annually while delivering strong uptime and granular access controls for enterprise use.
