A Neo4j Case Study

Preview of the Comcast Case Study

Comcast builds personalized smart homes with Neo4j using a multi-tenant profile graph

Comcast faced the challenge of creating a truly smart and personalized home automation system for its Xfinity products. Their connected devices lacked the ability to understand complex semantic and social relationships, preventing them from automating tasks based on personalized user context. To address this, a team was dedicated to building a new prototype using graph technology from Neo4j.

The solution was the development of the Xfinity profile graph, a scalable and multi-tenant user-profile service built on a native graph database structure from Neo4j. This platform models customers' real-life relationships and provides context, enabling all Xfinity applications to deliver a more personalized and consistent experience. Neo4j's technology allowed Comcast to move from a simple collection of connected devices to a context-aware smart home system.
