A Neo4j Case Study
Cocom, the public health commission for the Brussels-Capital region, faced a critical challenge in tracking COVID-19 clusters as a flood of data from labs and call centers overwhelmed their Excel-based system. They needed a scalable solution to visualize connections between cases and identify infection clusters to stop the spread of the virus, leading them to the Neo4j graph database platform.
The solution implemented using Neo4j Enterprise Edition connected data from positive tests, passenger locator forms, and call centers to map out infection clusters visually. This enabled the Cocom team to reduce their triage time for COVID-19 response by 90%, identifying over 5,000 clusters and allowing medical personnel to be dispatched 10x faster.
