CluedIn, led by CEO and engineer Tim Ward, faced the challenge of joining a polyglot tech stack of diverse customer data into a single, flexible, scalable, and resilient primary data store. The company needed a way to automatically integrate and contextualize disparate systems so they could go beyond disconnected records and solve problems with higher precision.

CluedIn adopted Neo4j as its primary data store, leveraging graph joins, pattern-matching and path-traversal techniques alongside available APIs to integrate with their stack and enable machine learning workflows. The move supported rapid growth — from 15 customers to a graph of ~280 million nodes and close to a billion relationships — and delivered the scalability, resilience and indexing flexibility needed in production, while informing model adjustments for even greater long-term performance.
