A Neo4j Case Study
Bflows, an Italy-based startup, faced the challenge of helping businesses manage cash flow and process invoices more effectively. Their initial approach using a relational database was too slow and lacked the processing power to handle a massive, interconnected network of unpaid invoices. To overcome this, they turned to the vendor Neo4j and its Neo4j Aura Enterprise and Neo4j Graph Data Science products.
The solution implemented by Neo4j allowed Bflows to reorganize financial data into a dynamic graph, uncovering connections between companies to optimize payment cycles. Using graph algorithms and machine learning, their application identifies key nodes to pay first, unlocking more payments and reducing bottlenecks. This resulted in a network of over 50,000 companies and 800 million invoices. Neo4j provided a massive performance boost, reducing analysis time for 90 million invoices from over three weeks to just four days, enabling faster cash flow for their clients.
