Adobe - Customer Case Study

Adobe’s Behance is a social network for digital artists where the activity feed serves as the home page. When software engineer David Fox joined Adobe he identified the feed’s rigid, bloated Cassandra-backed data model and large, costly cluster as a major operational and development challenge that needed an overhaul.

The team migrated the activity feed to Neo4j, cutting their infrastructure from 48 Cassandra instances to three Neo4j instances and greatly reducing dataset and ops complexity. The move delivered a much more manageable system, lower operational overhead, and faster prototyping and development, positioning the product for future features like improved recommendations.
