The customer, Bank of America, partnered with the vendor NectarOM to increase customer engagement through its BankAmeriDeals program. The challenge was to leverage customer transaction data to deliver personalized and relevant cash-back offers from merchants while ensuring the privacy of personal information was maintained.
NectarOM’s solution enabled Bank of America to analyze purchasing data to create targeted offers from both national and local merchants. This approach kept customer data secure within the bank's systems while allowing merchants to link offers directly to customer accounts. The program served 1.5 billion offers to 30 million online and 14 million mobile users over two years, successfully deepening customer engagement and creating a win-win for the bank, its customers, and participating merchants.
