University of Central Florida encourages student collaboration with NEC displays

The University of Central Florida faced a need to modernize its Tech Commons—providing students with timely UCF news, wayfinding, computer lab availability and interactive signage across its renovated Computer Center I and II. To meet these goals, UCF selected NEC Display Solutions and its commercial/pro‑grade V and P Series displays to deliver extended‑use large screens and touch‑capable kiosks at key entry points and collaboration spaces.

NEC Display Solutions supplied and supported a 24‑unit installation (32" V321-2, sixteen 46" P462, two 55" P551 and four 65" V651 panels) plus touch overlays, media players, mounts and a 5‑year on‑site warranty; installation was completed in nine months with a grand opening on January 10, 2012. The NEC solution centralized news, entertainment and lab status across the Tech Commons, creating an adaptable, high‑tech collaboration hub that students now use as a primary meeting and study space while providing measurable deployment scale and enhanced digital engagement across campus.
