A NEC Display Solutions Case Study
Terrebonne Parish School District, a 43-school district based in Houma, Louisiana, needed to rapidly digitize and preserve more than a century of student and employee records after Hurricane Katrina. Outdated CRT monitors were slow, space-consuming, and unable to support the scanning and imaging software required for the paper-to-digital project, and the district lacked funds to replace them — so they entered a contest run by NEC Display Solutions to obtain new displays.
NEC Display Solutions awarded the district 25 17" NEC MultiSync LCD1715 monitors, which were deployed in the central office and used by staff and Cooperative Office Education students to scan, catalog and upload historic records. The NEC monitors improved image clarity and legibility, sped workflow, reduced ongoing paper and supply costs, and improved communication and staff morale — enabling Terrebonne Parish School District to build a secure digital archive and free up resources for wider student use.
