Sendik’s enhances the shopper experience with an NEC display in every department

Sendik’s Food Market, a Greater Milwaukee–area grocery chain, was struggling with rising printing, shipping and labor costs and slow turnaround for paper signage that limited its ability to communicate timely pricing and promotions during the shopper’s “First Moment of Truth.” To modernize communications and cut costs, Sendik’s evaluated digital signage and selected NEC Display Solutions’ 42” NEC V421 (plus NEC CMS and VUKUNET integration) for a storewide rollout.

NEC Display Solutions deployed roughly 25 NEC V421 screens per store across Sendik’s nine stores and implemented NEC’s CMS to centrally manage content, allowing updates to be pushed to screens in under five minutes. The solution eliminated most printing and in‑store advertising labor costs, improved promotional agility (instant price/sale updates), provided reliable continuous‑duty performance and energy savings via scheduling, and delivered a measurable boost to the in‑store experience and brand visibility.
