A NEC Display Solutions Case Study
Seattle Art Museum Asian Art Museum invited Japanese artist Tabaimo to curate her first major self-curated multimedia exhibition, which paired historic collection pieces with new digital installations. The museum needed an immersive, technically precise display solution that could accommodate the 1933 Art Deco building’s structural limits and Tabaimo’s preference for specific projection equipment — she selected NEC Display Solutions projectors for the work.
NEC Display Solutions supplied the projection hardware — seven NP-PA571W projectors and two NP-P502HL units fitted with NP13ZL, NP12ZL and NP30ZL lenses — enabling vertical and angled projections, forced-perspective effects, and exact image alignment on custom buildouts. The NEC system supported eight video works (including four newly created on-site), filled roughly 6,000 sq. ft. across six galleries, and powered a successful four-month run that reframed traditional Asian art for visitors; museum staff noted the exhibition would have been much harder to mount without NEC Display Solutions.
