A NEC Display Solutions Case Study
Saint Louis University (SLU) needed a way to communicate quickly with students campus‑wide during emergencies and to display high‑resolution medical images in a 225‑seat auditorium that could not accommodate a high‑end projector. SLU worked with NEC Display Solutions (with integrator TSI Global) to identify reliable, attention‑grabbing digital signage and an alternative to a noisy, high‑lumen projection system.
NEC Display Solutions deployed a network of digital‑signage screens (46" V462 and 55" V551) and PA500U projectors, and installed a 5x5 video wall of 25 46" X462UN ultra‑narrow‑bezel panels in the auditorium. The NEC installation improved emergency communications, delivered near‑seamless, high‑resolution image display for medical lectures, reduced total cost of ownership (about $35,000 saved over five years versus a projector), and expanded to more than 130 NEC displays across campus.
