Raleigh-Durham International Airport goes first class by standardizing with NEC displays

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) needed to replace scattered CRTs and static signage with a standardized, reliable digital signage system to serve more than 10 million annual passengers and 400 daily flight movements. Seeking a single vendor that could supply a broad range of sizes (from 32" monitors to large video walls), low failure rates, and a sleek, consistent look, RDU evaluated suppliers and selected NEC Display Solutions and its MultiSync 20 Series displays.

NEC Display Solutions supplied a family of 32"–65" MultiSync LCDs—RDU ordered 50 65" LCD6520s, 150 57" LCD5710s, 150 46" LCD4620-AVTs and 40 32" LCD3210s (about 390 units)—and enabled centralized monitoring and content control from one location. The NEC solution delivered easier maintenance, uniform branding, reliable 24/7 operation and improved advertising and FIDS capabilities, modernizing terminals and transforming the airport into a visually appealing, high-tech facility.
