Poudre Valley Health System upgrades its medical imaging with NEC displays

Poudre Valley Health System in Fort Collins, Colorado needed more precise, color-capable displays for radiology—especially for ultrasound and Doppler imaging—so clinicians could read images accurately and improve patient care. Having used NEC Display Solutions equipment since 2006, the health system sought an upgrade in 2011 to move from grayscale to color diagnostic displays and maintain reliability and cost-effectiveness.

NEC Display Solutions provided a refresh with 15 21.3” MultiSync LCD2190UXp navigation monitors and 30 21.3” MD213MC diagnostic displays (installed by January 2012), later adding multiple 27” MultiSync EA273WM navigation screens in mid-2012; workstations use NEC-recommended Nvidia Quadro 2000D cards and built-in front calibration sensors for consistent brightness and color. The NEC Display Solutions upgrade delivered immediate improvements in color accuracy and ease of calibration, increased clinician confidence in readings, and measurable deployment outcomes (45 displays initially installed with completion by Jan 2012), while offering cost advantages versus competitors.
