Pei Wei flavors its restaurants with NEC digital menu boards

Pei Wei Asian Diner, a fast-casual offshoot of P.F. Chang’s with more than 150 locations, faced slow, costly updates from printed menu panels that could take up to a month and a half and generate significant printing expenses and waste. To modernize menus and enable timely promotions, Pei Wei turned to NEC Display Solutions, deploying 46” MultiSync LCD4620-2-IT screens and digital signage software to replace static boards.

NEC Display Solutions ran demos and a three-month pilot before a national rollout, ultimately installing 486 displays (three per each of 162 locations) between June and October 2009. The NEC solution enabled remote content management with RiseVision, eliminated recurring printing costs and paper waste, improved brightness and legibility in heavy ambient lighting, and allowed near-instant menu and promotion updates across the chain.
