NEC Display Solutions LCD monitors change the face of Reno/Tahoe International Airport

Reno/Tahoe International Airport faced limited space for flight information and poor readability from existing CRT and plasma displays, which suffered glare, bulkiness and burn‑in. To address these issues the airport turned to NEC Display Solutions, deploying 40" LCD4000 and 30" (29.5" VIS) LCD3000 panels to improve brightness, resolution and mountability throughout the terminal.

NEC Display Solutions’ LCD4000/LCD3000 installations (18 LCD4000s in gates; four LCD3000s in baggage claim and four in concessions) combined with Chief mounts—and a web‑based flight info system integration—allowed displays to be placed in revenue areas without downtime. The clearer, glare‑free screens made information readable from farther away, kept passengers in concession areas longer and produced a measurable uptick in concession revenue, benefiting the airport’s roughly 4 million annual visitors.
