Georgia’s Largest School District Upgrades In-Classroom Technology with NEC Projectors & Displays

Gwinnett County Public Schools, Georgia’s largest district (139 schools, ~13,500 classrooms and more than 178,200 students), needed to replace and standardize aging classroom AV after reliability problems with previous DLP projectors. Seeking a tier‑one manufacturer and long‑lasting, flexible gear, GCPS worked with integrator Summit Solutionz and evaluated vendors, ultimately choosing NEC Display Solutions’ NP‑P401W projectors and later NEC E Series flat‑panel displays to meet scale, longevity and installation requirements.

NEC Display Solutions implemented a district‑wide deployment — 9,464 NP‑P401W projectors across the district (including 5,184 for elementary schools, 3,107 for high schools in progress, plus laser projectors for theaters) and plans for 200–250 E Series displays (about 75 large panels already installed). NEC delivered on features GCPS required (lens shift, wide zoom), met supply‑chain deadlines with no missed shipments, and produced measurable results: successful installation of thousands of units, few technical or replacement issues since the 2014 switch, improved classroom engagement and better long‑term cost effectiveness.
