Dusseldorf Airport needed a modern, high-impact digital out-of-home solution to upgrade arrivals areas and a wide slide display above an escalator while meeting strict fire regulations, short maintenance windows and close viewing distances. NEC Display Solutions was chosen for its high pixel-density MultiSync® X463UN / XUN series ultra-narrow bezel displays and proven support, enabling centralized control and 4K content playback that met the airport’s operational and visual requirements.

NEC Display Solutions, working with integrator Ben Hur GmbH, deployed six video walls totaling 97 46-inch XUN displays (including 16 X463UN on the escalator DUS AD BOARD), mounted on flexible rails for serviceability and managed remotely for near maintenance-free operation. The installation delivered seamless, high-resolution video across the walls, added multiple new DUS AD BOARDs that are now sold to international advertisers, and has been replicated at other airports (Cologne and Hanover), demonstrating measurable scale (97 displays, six video walls, four additional boards) and strong commercial uptake.
