Creative signage changes the face of cinema

Showcase Cinemas set out to transform its new Showcase Cinema de Lux in Southampton into a fully immersive, social destination beyond the auditorium, using digital signage to build excitement in the lobby, bars and VIP areas and encourage guests to dwell longer. To achieve this, the operator worked with integration partner Beaver Group and NEC Display Solutions, deploying NEC V Series large-format displays and MultiSync® models across the venue.

Beaver Group and NEC Display Solutions delivered an integrated solution of 84 NEC digital signage screens, including a unique 40‑screen curved “flying” video wall mounted over 36 feet high (displaying content at 8K resolution), synchronized concession and bar canvases, 6 live box office screens integrated with real‑time ticket data, and local/head-office content control via signage.ninja. The installation enhanced the lobby experience and operational flexibility while providing measurable scale — 84 NEC screens in total, 21 screens across concessions/bars/party rooms and a 40‑panel 8K focal wall — with Showcase and Beaver citing NEC Display Solutions’ product quality and reliability as key to project success.
