Chase Secondary School increases student interest with NEC display technology

Chase Secondary School in Chase, British Columbia faced outdated classroom technology—CRT monitors, overhead projectors and a limited number of shared projectors—that hindered teachers’ ability to engage students and apply modern learning methods. After winning NEC Display Solutions’ $25,000 Technology Makeover contest, the school partnered with NEC Display Solutions to replace aging equipment with M300WS projectors, 19” AccuSync AS191WM desktop monitors and a 42” E421 display.

NEC Display Solutions provided and helped deploy 12 M300WS projectors, 56 AccuSync AS191WM monitors and one 42” E421 display (installation completed January 2012), placing projectors in classrooms and a lab and the E421 at the main entrance. The upgrades let teachers stream videos, show websites and present wide-format content, enabled a new animation course, showcased student work, and—according to staff—boosted student interest, participation and grades while improving messaging and presentation capabilities across the school.
