Cabela’s deploys cross-section of NEC displays to engage customers and employees

Cabela’s, the global specialty retailer of hunting, fishing and outdoor merchandise, needed a way to uniformly communicate with customers and employees across more than 50 stores, distribution centers and corporate sites while preserving its nature-focused brand. To replace manual DVD/TV content updates and elevate the in-store experience, Cabela’s chose NEC Display Solutions for commercial digital signage, video walls and management software.

NEC Display Solutions installed a mix of NEC hardware and software — including X462UN/X463UN and X551UN video-wall panels, V321 touch displays, AS221WM end-cap screens, P462 employee displays and NaViSet Administrator — standardizing signage across locations. The rollout (adding an NEC product about every three weeks) resulted in immersive, interactive content, roughly 28 NEC displays per outpost, deployments in 45 stores plus 3 distribution centers, no NEC display replacements since 2010, simplified remote content management and a measurable “wow factor” that boosted customer engagement.
