Case Study: San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter (SDICC) of the American Red Cross achieves faster, real-time disaster response and improved operational coordination with NEC Display Solutions

A NEC Display Solutions Case Study

Preview of the SDICC of the American Red Cross Case Study

American Red Cross heals the San Diego community with the help of NEC products

SDICC of the American Red Cross needed a modern, video-based information management and simulation training system to speed information flow among its 39 relief activities and external emergency partners and to meet new FEMA/ARC response mandates. To address outdated whiteboards and paper-based processes, NEC Display Solutions provided display and projection hardware — including 55" NEC P551 displays, 24" MultiSync EA241WM monitors and PX750U projectors — to create a common operating picture for situational awareness.

Installed by integrator Fluid Sound using NEC Display Solutions’ monitors and projectors, the solution centralized SitCell data visually across the operations center, enabling real-time collaboration, public messaging and training. The NEC installation produced measurable gains: prep time for larger operations fell from four–six hours to under one hour, operations and volunteer motivation improved, and information sharing with partners and the public became faster and more reliable.
