Decathlon records 150,000 shoppers for its new store with location technology

Decathlon, the global sports retailer, needed to boost awareness and drive both website visits and in-store traffic ahead of the launch of its third Hong Kong store in Tseung Kwan O, its largest store in the city. To support this goal, Decathlon worked with Near and Havas Media Hong Kong, using Near’s Allspark marketing SaaS platform for audience curation and location-based targeting.

Near helped execute a two-phase campaign that first targeted “sports enthusiasts” around sports centers and competitor stores, then retargeted and built lookalike audiences near Decathlon locations to drive store visits. The campaign generated 150,000+ visitors across Decathlon stores in 7 days, increased daily footfall by 50%, and lifted footfall by 75% after Actalike activation; exposed audiences were also 95% more likely to visit a store, according to Near’s Attribution Lift Index.
