Ndustrial helps Lineage Logistics monetize energy management with industry’s first smart demand response solution

Lineage Logistics, the world's largest cold storage company, struggled to participate in lucrative demand response programs due to the complexity of safely shutting down its industrial refrigeration systems within a strict ten-minute window. This challenge, which risked food safety and production, prevented them from capitalizing on energy monetization opportunities. Partnering with energy management vendor Ndustrial, they sought a solution to this operational hurdle.

Ndustrial implemented an automated orchestration layer that integrated with Lineage's refrigeration controls and their Nsight energy intensity software. This solution codified safe shutdown sequences and allowed facility managers to approve participation with a single button, enabling a full load shed within six minutes. As a result, the Allentown facility successfully shed 778kW of load per event, an amount equivalent to taking 650 households off the grid, allowing Lineage to monetize its energy management without compromising its operations.
