Vancouver Community College eliminates support calls in labs with Ncomputing

Vancouver Community College faced significant IT challenges managing an aging fleet of nearly 2,400 diverse Windows computers. With budget constraints, Windows 10 end-of-life, and rising hardware costs, they needed to reduce IT support burdens, extend hardware lifespan, and ensure compatibility with their Microsoft AVD infrastructure. They partnered with NComputing to evaluate the LEAF OS solution.

NComputing's solution involved repurposing the college's existing desktops and laptops as thin clients using the lightweight LEAF OS, managed via PMC Endpoint Manager and connecting to Microsoft AVD. The results were immediate: during the proof-of-concept, converted labs reported zero support calls, significantly lowering IT workload. The deployment successfully extended the usable life of devices up to eight years old, with no user resistance due to the familiar interface.
