Canon Pictures a Clutter-Free Office in Thailand

Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Canon Inc., supports over 400 employees at its Bangkok headquarters and a nationwide dealer network. When planning IT purchases, the company realized many users only needed basic office apps and web access, so replacing aging desktops would be costly and would not solve crowded workspaces—Canon needed a lower-cost, less cluttered computing model.

Working with distributor Siam Network & Computer, Canon piloted NComputing’s virtualization and L-series access devices to let multiple users share a single PC. The small, low-cost virtual desktops delivered comparable performance, freed desk space, and produced savings that funded replacement of CRTs with LCDs; Canon now plans to expand the solution across the business and into retail showrooms.
