Bamberg District Office cuts PC power use to 2–10 watts with NComputing

The Bamberg District Office faced challenges with its inefficient "fat client" network, which required resource-saving solutions and struggled to manage a large number of specialized business applications. They partnered with Ncomputing to convert their architecture to a thin-client model.

Ncomputing implemented 317 of its ARM-based RX420 thin clients, using RDP for access and its PMC management software. This solution streamlined operations, significantly reducing employee downtime and power consumption. The thin clients use only two to ten watts compared to the 50-200 watts used by the previous PCs, resulting in substantial energy savings and a more stable, scalable network.
