PSA Peugeot Citroën leverages nCode DesignLife to investigate and predict fatigue life of automotive components and subsystems

The automotive manufacturer Stellantis, formerly known as PSA Peugeot Citroen, faced the challenge of efficiently predicting the fatigue life of vehicle components like powertrains and suspensions to prevent failures and reduce warranty costs. Their existing in-house software was limiting their development process, prompting a search for a more robust fatigue analysis solution.

nCode implemented its DesignLife software to replace Stellantis's legacy system. The solution was specifically customized to incorporate Stellantis's essential Dang Van criterion and handle complex analyses like spot welds. As a result, Stellantis achieved a major milestone by enabling more accurate, predictive fatigue evaluations, which decreased the need for physical testing and led to more cost-efficient and less time-consuming development processes across the company.
