Bombardier achieves 8 times faster validation of wagon ride and safety with nCode GlyphWorks

Bombardier Transportation needed a way to validate a freight wagon modified by Irish Rail against the BS EN 14363 rail safety standard, while reducing the time and cost of test data analysis. The company had been spending about 160 hours manually processing test data across multiple analysis steps, including filtering, frequency analysis, statistics, and reporting, and was looking for a more efficient solution from nCode using GlyphWorks test data analysis software.

nCode implemented GlyphWorks to automate the required analysis flows for ride and running safety validation, with scripts handling filtering, cumulative frequency analysis, statistical processing, and Excel reporting. This reduced analysis time from about 160 hours to around 20 hours, an 8x improvement, while increasing confidence that the standard was followed correctly and helping Bombardier Transportation complete the project on time and on budget.
