BAE Systems integrated structural testing regime

BAE Systems, a major global defence and aerospace company, needed to develop improved methods for managing and sharing test information for the structural testing regime of the F-35 Lightning II airframe. This challenge involved conducting large-scale static and fatigue tests and required timely data sharing with multiple international partner sites. BAE Systems worked with vendor nCode and utilized HBK's data acquisition hardware and software to address these needs.

The solution implemented by nCode and HBK centered on a massive, synchronized data acquisition system using MGCplus devices and catman software. Crucially, nCode provided its nCode Automation software for automated data storage, analysis, and reporting, and nCode GlyphWorks for generating graphical plots. This integrated system enabled BAE Systems to release test data to distributed teams within two hours of a test's completion, facilitating immediate collaborative decisions and ensuring the airframe's structural integrity and performance.
