A nCino Case Study
Bank of the West is a San Francisco–headquartered regional bank (founded 1874) with $82.6 billion in assets and more than 600 locations across 23 states, backed by global resources from parent BNP Paribas. Its Commercial Banking Group relied on disparate systems, manual processes and paper loan files, which limited pipeline visibility, slowed origination and posed risks amid rising regulatory scrutiny and new marketplace competition.
To modernize, the bank implemented nCino’s cloud-based Bank Operating System, integrating loan workflow, delivery, document management and analytics with existing systems—delivered with an SI partner and validated security controls. Deployed in under nine months, the platform eliminated duplicate data entry, enabled on-the-fly workflow changes and drove rapid user adoption (96.5% of ~650 users active in month one), improving compliance, efficiency and employee satisfaction while positioning the bank for further expansion.
