American AgCredit is a customer-owned agricultural lender headquartered in Santa Rosa, CA, with $13.5 billion in assets. Rapid portfolio growth between 2015 and 2019 exposed limitations in its legacy loan origination system — a disjointed, data-entry platform that didn’t integrate with other systems, hindered consistency across 32 branches, and couldn’t scale to meet Farm Credit System requirements or support digital customer interactions.
To fix this, American AgCredit implemented the nCino Bank Operating System in its Retail channel (go‑live December 2019), delivering an end-to-end, configurable platform on Salesforce. The rollout reduced duplicate data entry, improved document and collateral management, and sped decisions — same-day “conditional yes” approvals rose from 23% to 71% — while supporting 37% year‑over‑year growth in new business and 22% growth in transaction counts, faster PPP processing, and greater cross‑team collaboration.
