A NCC Group Case Study
Tulane University, the largest private employer in New Orleans, needed help modernizing its security program after significant turnover left its Information Security Office without specialist forensic expertise. The university lacked internal resources, documentation, and consistent processes for digital forensics, and it was especially concerned about its ability to create legally admissible forensic images of devices. Tulane engaged NCC Group for digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) support.
NCC Group delivered a forensic assessment and process-improvement roadmap that highlighted priority areas for modernization and helped Tulane allocate resources more effectively. As a result, Tulane improved its data acquisition capabilities, strengthened the formality and defensibility of its forensic procedures, and increased staff productivity and confidence. The university now believes it can support roughly 80–85% of its forensic needs internally with a more sustainable, cost-effective program.
