Leading University engaged NCC Group to review its online security and help it achieve Cyber Essentials accreditation, a mandatory requirement for many funding applications. The university had a strong IT team but limited dedicated resource, and it needed to introduce new controls without disrupting the open, collaborative culture of campus life.

NCC Group’s Remediate team ran a two-day workshop to identify 156 action points across 21 areas, then used an agile plan of six three-week sprints to implement changes alongside the university’s in-house experts. NCC Group helped update firewalls, extend multi-factor authentication, improve device management, and refine security policies, resulting in reduced risk, stronger cyber security, and the university being well on its way to Cyber Essentials accreditation.
