Transport for London launches contactless payments in December 2012 with NCC Group
Transport for London (TfL) needed to achieve PCI DSS compliance and robust cyber assurance to securely launch its contactless payment system across the city's public transport network. To meet this challenge, TfL appointed NCC Group for its PCI DSS compliance services, including advisory, audit, and penetration testing.
NCC Group worked with TfL to develop a tailored compliance framework, conducted gap analyses, and provided remediation guidance. Following a full PCI DSS and P2PE assessment and penetration testing by NCC Group, the solution was approved. The successful bus launch in 2012 was commended for exemplary security, providing TfL with the peace of mind to roll out contactless payments across the Tube, trams, and other rail services.
