NCC Group worked with a government client to review the security posture of connected communications and entertainment systems for the aviation industry. The challenge was to move beyond public conjecture and provide factual, technical assurance regarding the cybersecurity of modern passenger aircraft from cyber risks.
NCC Group implemented a solution that included fleet-wide threat modeling, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) gathering, and a technical assessment of selected aircraft. The result was a comprehensive technical report that highlighted individual risk areas with associated risk ratings and real-world impact. This provided the government client with the factual analysis needed to inform the debate and included remediation actions to improve the cyber posture of the aircraft systems.
