The customer, a data analytics organization in Australia, was facing an impending acquisition by its largest shareholder. With limited internal cyber security resources and capability, it required an independent review of its security posture to present to the acquiring company. The organization engaged NCC Group to perform a Cyber Security Review (CSR) to meet this challenge.

NCC Group conducted a CSR based on the NIST Cyber Security Framework, assessing the client's controls maturity through stakeholder interviews and evidence review. This process identified key gaps and prioritized remediation. As a result, the client's maturity was assessed at 2.20, and NCC Group presented a roadmap to achieve a target of 3.20. The key recommendations included hiring an Information Security Manager and implementing a Managed Detection and Response service. Following the engagement, NCC Group was asked to repeat the review annually.
