The Penny Hoarder, part of Taylor Media, needed a better way to optimize Facebook as a major distribution channel for its growing personal finance content. With nearly 3 million Facebook fans and millions of monthly visitors, the team wanted to ensure each post resonated before publishing. Naytev’s content presentation testing platform helped them address this challenge.
Using Naytev, The Penny Hoarder tested up to 16 message variations per piece of content before posting to Facebook, using “dark testing” to find the highest-performing headline, image, and teaser. This led to strong results, including a 251% boost in post clickthrough rate and an 83% boost in video view rate, plus major traffic gains such as nearly 100,000 pageviews from one optimized post and 146,062 post clicks on another.
